Half that games emotional impact is the soundtrack. Tried watching a cut w/o the random indie song at the end and the characters' issues just didn't seem all that big really.

You CANNOT go uncaring about the somber but powerful charm of the works of KEichii Okabe, both in Nier and Drakengard series. Be it the your desperation when Crumbling Lies plays, be the charm of every ambient and boss battle song ever, be the chant of the Black Song. I'm the odd one that thinks that while the LiS was music and story connected, it's nowhere near the level of MG Revengeance or that god-DAMN sand level in Journey. LiS tries to be sentimenal but comes out to me as successful as is the guy that brings a guitar to a student's house party.
